Humble Beginnings:
Dallas Polyamory started as a small group of friends with the desire to connect and share their knowledge of polyamory and ENM experiences, education, and resources. Since then, the group has bloomed into the thriving community that you see now. Our group has been in existence for approximately 7 years or so, and in that time it has grown TREMENDOUSLY in capacity and we have gone through many growing seasons. We have had many members come and go, as well as moderators – for a variety of reasons – sometimes moves, sometimes changes in relationship structures, sometimes stress, and a wide variety of personal reasons. Because of such, we’ve been constantly evolving with the growth, needs, and population changes of the group. We’ve figured out some things that work great, some things that needed updates, and some things that have remained steadfast and reliable.
Our Group:
Dallas Polyamory's mission is to provide a education, support and community for those who are ENM, poly, allied, or exploring. Dallas Polyamory is currently not a 501c3 non-profit organization, nor is it a patreon. There is no monetary funding or profit gain - everything you see (this web page, group facilitation, events) is either allocated through creative brainstorming on free local resources, or by a few members who've forwarded a couple of bucks to pay for monthly web fees and event supplies. The Dallas Poly group is run purely on the blood, sweat, tears, and passion of our community members through various volunteer outlets – resource sharing, discussion facilitation and participation, moderation, and event hosting. We are an amazing community that comes together and offers what we can, when we can, and as it turns out, we’re pretty great at it!
Currently we engage primarily through our Facebook and Discord platforms, subgroups and chats, and public events. Joining our Facebook group is the best way to see how our group works in action!
What's Coming:
We are excited to announce that we will slowly but surely working on updating our website! While most of our activity happens in our social media platforms, they don’t always have enough characters or functions to encompass the totality of all of the things our group can offer, and how those things are accomplished. We will be adding detailed expansions of our rules, guidelines, and procedures, as well as super helpful ways to use our platforms and resources.
Please be Patient:
Because we are such a large group with so many moving parts and the Facebook platform only allows for so many characters and featured/pinned posts, until recently we haven’t had the ability to hash out, update, and post all of the nuance and details for each and every rule and the reasons as to why we operate the way that we do and we don’t always have the person power to address things as quickly as we would like. The moderator team is made up of a committed group of individuals that put in the volunteer work for Dallas Poly administration as much as they can, when they can, where they can, and how they can – this comes in the form of providing connection, discussion, and education threads, creating a safe and inclusive spaces, and hosting and donating to events, and as it turns out, building websites! But we can’t do it alone - If you are interested in ways you can contribute in these areas please reach out to our Mod team via our Facebook page. We are always looking for resources, moderators, discussion starters, event hosters, and many other kinds of talent!

Dallas Polyamory is a welcoming space for those who want to live an ethically non-monogamous lifestyle with the goal of providing education, support, community, and acceptance for those living or frequently visiting the DFW Metroplex and surrounding areas.
